We’re excited to share that we’ve recently appointed senior fashion and retail specialist Alan Davies to help oversee photography and design at our expanded, in-house studio.

Alan joins us as Creative and Studio Director in response to the continued growth of our full-service, creative and production space. He will work alongside our existing Creative Director Matt Thompson (who continues to lead our video division) focusing on photography and design and partnering with clients and creative teams to bring a range of photography and e-commerce projects to life.

An experienced Senior Creative Director, Alan has a strong history of producing powerful commercial photography content for brands including Nike, Adidas and Marks and Spencer and Ralph Lauren – and has helped shape growth at several major retailers during a distinguished 30-year career.

He spent almost 15 years developing services at Shop Direct and comes to Zut following a five-year stint as Director of Photography at The Hut Group.

Alan says: “This is a really amazing space and it feels like we’re building something really special.

“The studio itself is fully versatile, perfectly placed and the range of production and post-production services we offer are comprehensive.

“Matt and the team are already known for their agility and ability to deliver hard-working, highly commercial creative content, working reactively and to the tightest deadlines so I’m delighted to be joining them.”

Managing Director Mark Hancock, recently reported a 62% rise in turnover at Zut and has made several new senior hires in the last 12 months. The 35 strong team, is committed to finding new ways of delivering creative and commercial value and excellence for clients.

“Our expanded studio facilities mean we can now offer even more of a ‘one-stop shop’ for clients,” he says.

“We provide a genuinely ‘end to end service’, with Alan and our teams stepping up to take care of everything from concept ideation to post-production. We’re thrilled to have someone with his skills, considerable experience and reputation, joining our senior team.
