Claire House Children’s Hospice has been a charity for many families with seriously ill children since 1998. They provide specialist nursing care and emotional support to get families smiling and living life to the full as best as they can when also facing some of their toughest times.
Following on from the 2021 Christmas appeal video, Claire House wanted to re-celebrate and explore Christmas 2022 with a new appeal video. Proving a platform for a Claire House Family, allowing them to tell their story and experience directly to an audience in an effective manner.
The video saw members of each family address’ the lens directly, in a simple, sit-down interview format. Contributing their experience, the help and difference Claire House makes to their life and what it means to them to have people out there who donate. This creates an authentic and simplistic style.
The set for the interview is dressed tastefully. Minimal and selected Christmas decorations such as garlands, presents and fairy lights are out of focus to not draw too much attention away from the interviewee.
To go alongside the interviews we wanted the video to be intertwined with cutaways of behind-the-scenes style footage, capturing candid family moments and interactions. This helps set the tone of the video as intimate and personal.
The narrative and visuals presented, allows an audience to immerse themselves into the family’s stories and see the undeniable impact Claire House and those who support them have brought to their lives.
We were able to create 5 separate videos. Including a full-length 2-minute video and four various cut downs ranging from 15-second – 1-minute videos.
We also used the audio files to create a radio advert version of the Christmas appeal campaign.
Finally, we provided a selection of campaign photography stills to use as assets for websites, social and prints.
