For their 2017-18 Season Ticket sales campaign, Everton commissioned a 90-second animated film, cut to an evocative voiceover script, which showed the history of the club through memorable events from its past.

The narrative of the voice-over starts us off at the inception of EFC 1878. Slowly building up to the current day. We wanted the script to keep a steady but bold pace, reflecting the value and pride of the club which has been held for generations.

We wanted to take advantage and put a creative of the club’s large selection of archive footage. To elevate the imagery we identified and cut key standout imagery. Using 2D animation we were able to bring the archive alive and take audiences on a trip through Everton’s story so far.

The continuous movement was important to reflect how each moment has impacted the next, connecting them all under the club. We alway wanted to create the effect of brining the audience in to the video, and seeing the ins and out of the past and present.

The Results

The animation formed part of a multi-channel campaign that helped Everton break its previous record for the most number of season tickets sold in a pre-season period.
