Renshaw is a Liverpool-based food manufacturer producing ingredients for professional bakers and the catering industry for over 100 years. As part of their growth strategy, Renshaw have developed a range of flavoured syrups and sauces for use in the hospitality industry, and needed label and packaging designs for the new products.

We were briefed to develop creative that would have “shelf presence” when seen amongst more established competitor products, whilst celebrating their Liverpool heritage, of which the company is immensely proud.

The Strategy

Taking the city as our inspiration, we started by listing familiar sights and places that are recognisable to Liverpudlians and non-locals alike; some less obvious than others. This was used to guide the creation of a bespoke illustration of an idealised Liverpool skyline, filled with subtle references to famous landmarks and well-loved attractions. 

Elements of this illustration were then used across packaging and marketing assets, creating a distinctive visual identity for the range across multiple touch points.
