OUR WORK

What are VFX services?

VFX services range from adding extra layers of detail to a shot (such as smoke, lighting or particles), right through to super-imposing CGI simulations and environments.

What is 3D animation?

3D animation is entirely computer generated, and applies many of the characteristics of 2D animation to virtual, 3-dimensional scenes. The main point of difference is that characters, objects and scenes are based on real-world physical dimensions. 3D elements are modelled within a virtual environment using specialist software and then staged using virtual lights and cameras (as you would with a real video production) before being animated.

This basis contributes to the behaviour of shadows, lights, textures, reflections and many other visual details. For example, if we add a light to a scene, we will see how the objects within the scene look in response to it, and we will then need to control where the light is placed, how bright it, how the resulting shadows look, how the reflections show the light and so on. Essentially, every last detail and behaviour of the scene has to be created, considered or controlled and is based on the laws of physics.

These principles mean that almost anything is achievable through 3D animation, including impossible camera angles and photo-realistic renders.

The 3D approach is ideal for showcasing products and all their different features, whereby we can get much closer than a real camera ever could, and we control every aspect of the shot – even extracting component parts of the product to showcase different USPs.
