Bafta-winning BBC Drama Time has wrapped production of its second series, with the production unit base and large amounts of the set build and filming taking place at our new studio space in Knowsley.
Written by Jimmy McGovern and Helen Black, the new series is set in a women’s prison and stars Doctor Who actress Jodie Whittaker, Game of Thrones star Bella Ramsey and Tamara Lawrence.
The first series of Time aired in 2021 starring Sean Bean and Stephen Graham and went on to win two BAFTA awards.
We opened the 24,000 sq ft studio in January and it has already proved a popular location for filming, attracting interest from production crews for TV dramas and TV adverts.
Maria Pavlou, Line Producer for Time Season 2, commented: “The facilities were excellent and everyone really enjoyed being there. There was enough office space for our team and we built our main set in the studio, which was really handy for the production. The service was great – Paul the Studio Manager and Zút were really helpful, efficient and friendly.
“The transport links are ideal. The location is great for anyone coming from Liverpool or travelling in from the Manchester area. It’s been a pleasure working with Zút.”
Mark Hancock, Managing Director at Zút said: “It was fantastic to welcome the BBC and the cast of Time 2 to Knowsley and be a part of such a high-profile production.
“Since opening the doors we’ve been blown away with the number of enquiries from production companies wanting to use the studio and to be attracting such big names is really encouraging.
“It’s also been good to use the studio ourselves for some of our recent shoots, such as the new LFC home and away kit launches.”
Located on Knowsley Business Park, the studio is in close reach of Liverpool city centre, with easy access to the motorway network.
